Amelia Dawson, who was this girl? Well that’s the thing, nobody knows much about the brown haired girl. You see, Amelia was the sort of girl that often kept herself to herself and had a hard time in trusting people. It had all started when her father decide to up and leave with her older brother when she was just 16 years old, they hadn’t said a word, neither did they leave a letter. It had broken her heart and torn it into a million pieces. Amelia was very close to her brother, he was like a shield that protected her from the world and harsh words people had about her. Amelia wasn’t the most popular girl in town, she was just…normal looking and was good at blending into the background while everyone around her was able to get on with their lives. Though Amelia would have loved a friend who she could trust and talk to, it wouldn’t have worked out. A year after her father and brother left, her mother had taken seriously ill with lung cancer. Amelia would spend many days and nights looking after her mother, holding her back as she threw up and some days she would have to hand feed her mother who felt too ill and in pain to move. Amelia couldn’t stand seeing her mother in so much pain, it killed her. Her mother often pleaded with her to end her life, though Amelia tried her best to keep her mother fighting on. She couldn’t lose someone else, then she would have seriously been on her own.
Her mother kept on fighting, all because she wanted to see her daughter graduate from high school. Amelia had earned a place at The Grill, to help pay the bills for the home that she lived in with her mother. It was hard work trying to balance school, work and looking after her mother that she barely had time for herself. By the time graduation came, Amelia had only just earned the grades to graduate, though all Amelia was thankful for was just being able to make her mother smile. It wasn’t until a few weeks afterwards the she realised that her mother wasn’t getting any better, she was getting worse. The cancer was spreading and it was slowly became incurable. Amelia and her mother often sat down each night to discuss options on what would happen. Then it came, the final plea from her mother, asking Amelia to help end her life once and for all. She could see it so clear, the pain that was going through her mother, she didn’t even look the same anymore. It was then that night when the sky was dark and the stars shone high when Amelia had crushed up so heavy pills for her mother and put them in her tea. Amelia sat with her mother right till the end, holding her hand. It was then when Amelia felt truly alone, nobody was there for her anymore, and everything was going to change. The pain that had gone through Amelia after her mother’s death was bone shattering, she had felt her eyes change.
Amelia knew the reason behind what had happened to her, she had known from a young age of what curse she had. She was a werewolf, and gene that had come from her father and had passed down to her. Of course, Amelia was scared as hell, having to go through something on her own was hard enough, but going through the pain of transforming was going to be even worse.
Amelia is slowly coming to terms with the death of her mother, it was a hard choice that she had to make at such a young life. Ending her mother’s life from the pain that she was in was heartbreaking for the young girl. However, Amelia knew that it was what her mother wanted, even if it meant triggering her werewolf side. The full moon is soon upon the young girl and she often has nightmares of what will happen with her first transformation. Amelia is struggling with the anger that comes with triggering the werewolf curse and often finds herself taking her anger out by running or painting, two things that are very different from each other. Amelia is slowly preparing herself for the full moon, the only thing is…she hasn’t found a safe place to transform and the full moon is only around the corner.
